World Social Forum has during the last years evolved into a most important discussion forum of the global civil society. First three Forums took place in Porto Alegre, Brazil. This year the meeting was held in Mumbai, India.
The Finnish Social Forum takes place in Helsinki on the 3.-4. of April. It is organised by a broad variety of Finnish Non-Governmental Organisations, trade union activists, church activists, artists and many others.
The Finnish event is an open arena for discussion and action. Different groups and organisations can bring their own programme into it, on their own or by joining forces with others interested in the same topics and themes. The Forum consists of workshops, seminars, actions, debates and discussions, exhibitions, concerts, theatre and dance performances and so on.
We hope that the Forum in Helsinki will bring about new visions and alternatives to the prevailing neoliberal world so harsh to many people and to nature; that it creates new understanding, innovations and action for a good future for all.
Welcome to come along!
